Beechworth & District Hockey Club was established in 1999 and provides people from Beechworth, Yackandandah, Stanley, Wooragee, Chiltern and surrounds to play field hockey. The Club is a family focused club with an emphasis on fun, team work and participation.

The Club provides hockey for U9, U12, U14, U16, Senior Men and Women (Division 2 and 3) and Veteran Women (35+). We have 11 teams, and over 120 families involved with our Club. We welcome all players and our coaches focus on equal participation, opportunity and experience.

We play in the Hockey Albury Wodonga (HAW) competition which runs from April to September. There are also summer social and preseason social competitions we participate in. Most games are played in Wodonga and Albury, though our U9, U12, U14, Div 2 and 3 teams will have home games on our field in Yackandandah. Occasionally there are games played in Wangaratta and Corowa.

U16 play on Friday nights. U9, U12 and U14 play on a Saturday morning.  Division 3 teams play Saturday afternoons and Division 2 play on a Sunday. Veteran Women play on a Monday night.

From March to September we run our junior training in Beechworth and Yackandandah. Our U16 and senior training is on the synthetic field in Wodonga on Thursday nights.

Many of our players have played representative hockey for their school, Hockey Albury Wodonga, NE Knights, Victoria and James Jewell is our first Australian representative.

We also have a variety of social events including Registration and skills day, Trivia Night, Club days, participation in the Easter Golden Horseshoe festival and Presentation.
